Today, blockchain is no longer a tool that is only used for cryptocurrencies. Blockchain has become a disruptive technology that is providing support to a plethora of sectors. The financial, governmental, industrial and health sectors will benefit tremendously from blockchain. The industrial revolution has gone through multiple phases to improve the manufacturing and distribution process of products and services. Industry 4.0 focuses on interconnectivity, automation, machine learning (ML), and real-time big data. The shift towards Industry 4.0 requires cooperation among Internet of Things (IoT) devices through secure and intelligent mechanisms. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will with no doubt play a significant role in the ability of IoT devices to be part of the service provisioning process for all Industry 4.0 sectors. To ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of the transactions performed by the intelligent IoT devices in diversified ecosystems, a decentralized trustworthy solution is crucial. Blockchain technology provides a mechanism to enable distributed and decentralized transaction authentication in self-configurable and self-manageable IoT environments. In this context, the goal of this workshop is to elaborate and emphasize the key aspects of the use of blockchain for Industry 4.0. The workshop aims at bringing together developers, academics, and professionals interested in blockchain technology for the advancement of Industry 4.0.
The workshop welcomes original research, related idea, and innovative solutions and focus on either fundamental methodological studies or use cases and application demonstrations. Authors are invited to submit original research contributions that fall into or are related topic areas listed below:
